Interprofessional Community Healthcare Scholars Program

Goals

Prepare healthcare students to provide care to the community through exposure to diverse, rural, and underserved populations while optimizing the collaboration among different healthcare professions. 

Purpose

Provide designation as an Interprofessional Community Healthcare Scholar. This designation will appear on your transcript, you will receive a medallion to wear at graduation, and you will earn a certificate designating you as a scholar. 

Program Objectives

  1. Understand the roles and responsibilities of varying healthcare professions.
  2. Demonstrate collaboration with other healthcare professions during clinical activities.
  3. Participate in Project ECHO sessions to understand the role of interprofessional care with complex patients seen through the ¹ÏÉñÍø Community Care Clinics.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of the role of telehealth to address the needs of the community through an interprofessional approach.
  5. Assimilate understanding of the interprofessional education domains through the completion of a community focused project.

Program Requirements 

To earn designation as an Interprofessional Community Healthcare Scholar, students must: 

  • Complete the Interprofessional Module and Quiz 
  • Participate in an IPE Workshop as scheduled 
  • Participate in Interprofessional Project ECHO Sessions as scheduled 
  • Complete the C-TIER Telehealth Certification Program 
  • Complete an IPE Community Care Project 
  • Complete Interprofessional clinical experiences
