Though a broad range of offerings and opportunities, this program encourages students to work not only toward proficiency in the French language, but to learn about the culture, history, literature, politics, and geography of the French-speaking world.

Foreign Language and Literature Teachers, Postsecondary

Must complete the Lower Division General Education requirements and the core requirements.

A cumulative grade point average of 2.00 is required for the 30 hours of upper-division courses in French.

No more than two FR courses taught in English can be counted for the major.Â
