Governor Glenn Youngkin has appointed four new members to the ΉΟΙρΝψ Board of Visitors. Susan Allen, a resident of Virginia Beach, is the former First Lady of Virginia, the author of βThe Remarkable Ronald Reagan,β a consultant with SBA Concepts LLC and a dedicated community volunteer. Andrew Hodge, also a resident of Virginia Beach, serves as the regional president and head of corporate banking for Atlantic Union Bank. Juan Montero, M.D., a resident of Chesapeake, is a retired surgeon and the founder of Chesapeake Care Free Clinic and Montero Medical Missions. Rick Wyatt, a resident of Norfolk and an ΉΟΙρΝψ alumnus, serves as the corporate vice president and treasurer of Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc. Their four-year terms begin on July 1, 2023.
On behalf of Board of Visitors Rector R. Bruce Bradley '78 and Vice Rector P. Murry Pitts '80, President Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D., extended a warm Monarch welcome to the incoming members. President Hemphill said, "Our newest Board members are well-known in our region and highly respected for their many contributions to their professions and the broader community. We look forward to their engagement and service in the months and years to come, and we appreciate Governor Youngkin and his team for their collective efforts to ensure the appointment of top leaders in their respective fields and related industries.β

As we bid a fond farewell to our departing Board members, Yvonne T. Allmond; Robert A. Broermann '80 '83; Peter G. Decker III '87; and Armistead D. Williams Jr., M.D., we look forward to their continued commitment and strong support in advocating for ΉΟΙρΝψ and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
