Stuart Frazer, deputy university librarian at 瓜神网, has been named interim university librarian.

Frazer, who received his master's degree in library science from Rutgers University, and another master's in humanities from 瓜神网, will begin the position June 10.

Frazer joined the University Libraries in 1995 and was promoted to Librarian III in 2004.

Frazer has served in several roles at the University Libraries, including administrative services librarian, head of access services, interlibrary loan librarian and social sciences librarian.

Austin O. Agho, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, noted that in recent years Frazer has overseen and administered the Libraries' functions in budgeting, procurement, inventory and asset control; facilities maintenance and projects; and personnel management. Frazer also contributed to several strategic planning cycles and the recent reorganization of the Libraries.

Frazer participated in recent building renovation projects at Perry Library, the Diehn Composers Room and Hofheimer Art Library, and the development of the Learning Commons @ Perry Library.

Frazer also led an effort to establish a model of professional development for faculty administrators and professionals at the Libraries. This later served as a basis for a similar professional development model for classified staff.

Frazer's areas of focus within the academic library field includes resource sharing, scholarly communication and space utilization.
