"As a campus community we wield a considerable privilege, and it is important for us to take this opportunity to stop and truly reflect on the events of 9/11 and what it means to be culturally competent and how more attention to culture can influence our future," said Veleka Gatling, director of diversity initiatives at ¹ÏÉñÍø. "Also, as we think about ways to leverage our collective impact to increase our cultural competence and actions through lessons learned from 9/11, our focus will be on lessons learned through the lens of health equity, public service and education."
Panelists for the discussion are:
- Ron Carlee, visiting assistant professor of public service at ¹ÏÉñÍø's Strome College of Business
- Janice Hawkins, clinical associate professor of nursing in ¹ÏÉñÍø's College of Heath Sciences
