¹ÏÉñÍø has been recognized as a top-tier institution in the Center for World University Rankings' Global 2000 list released April 25.

¹ÏÉñÍø was ranked in the top 4.4% out of 19,788 universities worldwide and ranked No. 857 overall. The University was also ranked No. 194 nationally and No. 219 in the U.S. and Canada.

In the research category, ¹ÏÉñÍø ranked No. 816. Overall, the University received a score of 71.1 from the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR).

CWUR publishes authoritative global university rankings, known for objectivity, transparency and consistency. Ranking indicators include education, employability, faculty and research, with no reliance on surveys and university data submissions.

  • Education is measured by the number of university alumni who have won major academic distinctions relative to the university's size.
  • Employability is measured by the number of university alumni who have held top executive positions at the world's largest companies relative to the university's size.
  • Faculty is measured by the number of faculty members who have won major academic distinctions.
  • Research is measured by several factors, including output, the number of high-quality publications, influence and citations.

"These rankings once again recognize the talented faculty and students at ¹ÏÉñÍø," said Austin Agho, provost and vice president for academic affairs. "Our faculty are engaged in the highest level of research, which creates great learning experiences and opportunities for our students to go on to do amazing things."

This adds to the recognition for ¹ÏÉñÍø's academic programs.

In September 2021, U.S. News & World Report ranked ¹ÏÉñÍø in the top tier of nearly 1,500 higher education institutions evaluated. For the third year, the University was ranked as a top performer on social mobility, which measures an institution's success in graduating underserved students and those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

In December, ¹ÏÉñÍø earned the Research 1 Classification, indicating "very high research activity," from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, placing it among the highest level of research institutions in the United States.

In January, U.S, News & World Report recognized ¹ÏÉñÍø's distance-learning programs. In February, a peer-reviewed study ranked ¹ÏÉñÍø as the top U.S. university in maritime management research based on a calculated "impact score." In March, the University earned a Gold ranking as a Military Friendly® School for 2022-2023 from militaryfriendly.com.
