Data Management Executive Committee (DMEC)

Overview

Data Management supports informed data driven decisions, impacts the ability to identify and leverage opportunities, and is vital to maintaining operational excellence as well as comply with local, state, and federal mandates. ¹ÏÉñÍø continues to advance in business practices and dependencies on the use of data for strategic goals and priorities. Along with this progress comes a need to advance our data management policies, standards, procedures, and awareness efforts so that we can be prepared to meet new challenges.

The Data Management Executive Committee (DMEC) is a senior level team comprised of representatives from the executive level and the Data Trustee level, which establishes overall policies for management and access to the institutional data of the University. The DMEC is charged with facilitating and monitoring the quality and protection of enterprise information at ¹ÏÉñÍø.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, maintain and help enforce University-wide data management policies, standards, guidelines, and operating procedures related to University Institutional Data assets.
  • Facilitate communication with senior institutional executives.
  • Mediate disputes related to policies and standards.
  • Facilitate development of information security awareness strategies.
