Mission
The mission of The Association is to promote greater involvement and representation of Hispanic and Latino employees and students at ¹ÏÉñÍø; to advocate issues of Hispanic and Latino employees, including but not limited to their recruitment and their retention; to enhance the status and opportunities of Hispanic and Latino employees; and to provide networking opportunities and a forum for Hispanic and Latino issues.
Purpose
The Hispanic and Latino Employee Association (HLEA) was established January 2010 to support the needs and interests of Hispanic and Latino employees at ¹ÏÉñÍø. The Association shall promote the concerns of the University's Hispanic and Latino employees and serve as a voice for Hispanic and Latino employees and students. The Association shall support the mission and integrity of ¹ÏÉñÍø (¹ÏÉñÍø).
Goals
- Monitor/enhance the recruitment and retention of Hispanic and Latino employees.
- Enhance the recruitment of prospective Hispanic and Latino students and the retention of Hispanic and Latino students attending ¹ÏÉñÍø.
- Cultivate a sense of community among campus Hispanic and Latino employees.
- Serve as an advocate for Hispanic and Latino employees.
- Provide opportunities for social and professional networking.
- Provide a forum for Hispanic and Latino employees to communicate as a unified voice.
- Strengthen communication and collaboration with various campus groups with similar goals and objectives.
- Support outreach initiatives as determined by The Association.
