Application Process
Complete and submit theÌý¹ÏÉñÍø Application for Undergraduate AdmissionÌý±ð²¹°ù±ô²â.
Early application is strongly advised. Applications completed by Dec 1 receive priority consideration for merit based, academic scholarships. Admission to the F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music is selective and based on an audition. A letter of acceptance from ¹ÏÉñÍø Undergraduate Admissions does not signify admission into a F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music degree program. Official notification of acceptance into any music program will come in the form of an email from the F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music notifying applicants of its admissions decision. While F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music scholarship consideration is extended to all who audition, at any time, offers to incoming, new students are typically made by the end of March.

You do not need to be admitted to ¹ÏÉñÍø Undergraduate Admissions prior to submitting your Music Application.
Prepare the following for your Music Application:
- Two References:ÌýName, title institution/company information, email address, and phone number for each of the two academic references: one music reference to include your music director or private teacher, one non-music reference to include advisor, guidance counselor, community leader, etc. Ask these individuals to submit recommendation letters in support of your application. Each recommender will receive an auto-email with submission instructions.
- Essay:ÌýA 300-500 word essay describing your involvement in music as well as your objectives and professional aspirations.
- Repertoire List:ÌýTitles and composers of pieces studied intensively and considered part of your solo repertoire, including technical studies, ensemble repertoire.
- Artistic Resume:ÌýA brief overview of your musical background including private study, performances, ensembles, repertoire, awards, etc. You can type directly into the application or upload an existing resume. Vocalists should include a head shot or picture.
- Recorded Audition Video* (optional) Only uploaded video qualifies for audition; audio alone will not be considered.
*NOTE:ÌýApplicants that live within a two-hour radius from the ¹ÏÉñÍø campus must complete the live audition.ÌýThose who live beyond a two-hour radius and are unable to visit the campus for a live audition may upload a recorded video audition as part of the F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music application. Scholarship consideration is prioritized to applicants who perform on-campus auditions instead of recorded auditions. Audition recordings must conform to the same audition requirements as an on-campus audition unless otherwise noted. Audition recordings are only accepted via upload through our audition portal,Ìý. DVD, CD, YouTube (or similar) submissions received by postal mail or email are not accepted and will neither be reviewed nor acted upon if received. Upload each selection as a separate recording file. Audio recordings are not acceptable; only video will be considered for audition. Recordings are reviewed only after all required F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music application materials have been received and processed.

Audition dates/times are confirmed onlyÌýafterÌýreceipt ofÌýcompleteÌýapplication materials. You are responsible for tracking the status of your application materials, as outlined below:
