The Multicultural Greek Council is a collective of one sorority and fraternity that are members of the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations.
The purpose of the ¹ÏÉñÍø Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is to serve as a governing body, to create and maintain high standards in the life of culturally-based fraternities and sororities by addressing, coordinating and developing strategic programming to unify organizations involved in MGC. Promote higher education, provide community services, enhance leadership and to serve as a liaison between the MGC, other FSL Councils (IFC, NPHC & PHC), the university student body and administration, thereby improving campus life.
Each culturally based fraternity and sorority brings in new members at various times of the year through a process called Membership Intake. Each MGC organization has different requirements for membership, and each conducts intake on its own schedule. Some organizations conduct intake each semester; others do so only once a year. Organizations conducting Membership Intake may host a meeting in which criteria for membership is explained.
In partnership with the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), at the beginning of both fall and spring semester, a general information session is held. This event is called Meet the Greeks and it is an opportunity for students to learn about each active organization, ask questions, and interact with chapter members.
Each Multicultural Greek Council organization has its own requirements set by their national organization and ¹ÏÉñÍø chapter. Please contact the ¹ÏÉñÍø chapter that you are interested in to find out their requirements.
