For over twenty-five years, the TWP Summer Institute (SI) has been training teachers each summer to be Teacher Consultants. At the Institute, teachers examine issues in the teaching of writing, present and demonstrate approaches to the teaching of writing, study current and past research in the field, and write in various modes and from different points of view, including a position paper on the teaching of writing.
Location
The TWP holds its Summer Institute at ¹ÏÉñÍø in the Education building.
Dates
The SI runs for one month in the summer, and Fellows attend from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
Credits
Participants will earn graduate level credit upon completion of the Summer Institute.
Cost
Based on ¹ÏÉñÍø Tuition Rates. Please seek tuition assistance from schools and/or school districts. The National Writing Project may sponsor partial tuition.
To be selected for the TWP Summer Institute and earn graduate credit, please email an application to Dr. Lea Lee, Director, Tidewater Writing Project.
