Park, recreation and tourism management offers a minor.

The Park, Recreation and Tourism Studies (PRTS) Program is housed within the Department of Human Movement Studies & Special Education, one of five departments in the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies. The PRTS Program is designed to prepare students with the skills, knowledge, and ability to pursue professional careers in the park & recreation, or tourism & hospitality fields.

Majors

Each student major receives a management-based core curriculum complemented by their choice of a selected career concentration area.

Tourism & Hospitality Management

The Tourism & Hospitality Management (THM) concentration is one of three concentrations in the Park, Recreation and Tourism Studies (PRTS) Program at ¹ÏÉñÍø. The focus of the THM concentration is to prepare students interested in careers in the travel & tourism, festival and event planning, and hospitality industries.

Park & Recreation Management

The Park and Recreation Management (PRM) major is one of two majors in the Park, Recreation and Tourism Studies (PRTS) Program at ¹ÏÉñÍø. The focus of the PRM major is to prepare students for careers in local, state, & national parks, the outdoor recreation industry, and public and non-profit recreation leadership.
