Master's Degrees
The Master of Science in Education, major in Special Education, offers three endorsement-specific concentrations, catering to those pursuing advanced degrees alongside initial teacher licensure or endorsement in special education, with a commitment to fostering awareness, understanding, and acceptance of individuals with disabilities.
Doctoral Programs
Graduates of the Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Special Education will be prepared as content experts in pre-referral intervention and early intervention to assume positions of leadership as special education faculty at the university and college level.
Endorsements
The ¹ÏÉñÍø Special Education Post-Baccalaureate Endorsement Program meets Virginia Department of Education certification and endorsement requirements, offering pathways for students with an MS degree or with provisional licenses in special education to pursue endorsement in areas including early childhood special education, general curriculum K-12 (mild disabilities), adapted curriculum K-12 (severe disabilities), and visual impairments.
