Career Switcher Program

Want to Work in a PreK-12 School?

Across the state and nation, there are plentiful career opportunities for those seeking to be a teacher, administrator or other licensed professional.

With ¹ÏÉñÍø's initial and advanced licensure programs, you'll gain content knowledge, acquire pedagogical skills, and learn to incorporate technology in school settings while developing skill and experience in rigorous field experiences.

You will learn from faculty who have direct and current school-based experience, and be supported with career mentoring from former school professionals. If you're ready to start making a difference in schools, ¹ÏÉñÍø will get you there.

¹ÏÉñÍø's Professional Educator Program is a collaborative effort between the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies, the College of Arts and Letters, and the College of Sciences. The major purpose in its teacher education programs is to prepare teachers who have knowledge of their teaching disciplines, abilities to practice state-of-the-art instruction to students of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and demonstrate dispositions that reflect commitment to teaching and learning as well as lifelong professional growth and development.
